1-Anniversary ghosts-
These are ghosts that present themselves on a special occassion ie- be it their death,a birth in the family or even some special time in their lives.These Spirits can sometimes be relied upon to make an appearance on a set date or time.One of these is a story about a young girl who was killed in a motorcycle accident on an airfield at Metheringham Lincolnshire during WW2, her ghost is said to put in an appearance at around 9.30 pm during the summer months and flags down passing motorists to help her.Anyone who has seen this apparition said that she appears solid at first and smells of lavender but then she changes to a rotting corpse and smells of rotting meat, so be warned.

2-Interactive ghosts-
These manifestations appear when they are called upon.Picture the scene a group of ghosthunters decide to have a call out in a well known haunted location, a spirit might put in an appearance and answer their questions or even show them something only they could know about these are very rare but they have been known and investigated.

3-Presences-
These ghosts don`t appear to anyone but choose to remain invisible,the only signs that they are there is the hairs on the back of your neck stick up or you feel as if someone has touched you. I personally have had one of these experiences during an experiment in a local village pub.I was sat on a stool in the middle of the bathroom trying to see if i could feel anything when suddenly i felt my hair being brushed fairly roughly about three times and when it was time to leave the room i had a stong smell of flux as used by plumbers on copper joints. I asked the barman if they had just had the bath or sink installed but he told me it had been in place for about four years and no plumbing had been done since then,so that was a strange one for me.

4-Poltergeists-
These ghosts offer the most talked about subject in the paranormal world, the reason is because no-one can prove that they are not caused by people themselves. The general thinking is that poltergeists manifest when there is a teenager in the vicinity of the haunted location,and some investigators and scientists believe that it is the teenager who unwittingly is generating the energy required for these spirits to manifest and cause objects to move and physically attack people. There are plenty of documented cases on record,and the thing that is common to them all is that the manifestations start and after a very short period they stop and no-one knows why.

5-Ghost of the living-Dopplegangers,vardogers and bi-location-
These apparitions are peculiar in the fact that the ghost seen is actually still alive, and there have been many stories like it told throughout history. My favourite one is about a couple living in Ireland, but were in the process of moving to England,and every night the wife would dream of a house and she would wander about it and talk with the occupants and in the morning would wake up and remember nothing. Eventually they moved and went to look at a property and when they arrived the estate agent met them and started to show them around. At that point the woman said there was no need as she knew the house like the back of her hand, which suprised her husband as they had never been to England let alone seen the property before that day. The woman went round the house descibing every room before entering and when she got to the upstairs landing she became confused and asked what happened to a certain doorway and was told that it had recently been bricked up. They bought the house and got it at a knocked down price and soon after they had moved in and settled they went to see the estate agent to ask why they got it so cheap, the estate agent told them it was because it was haunted but it was nothing for them to worry about. This revelation startled them until the man told them the house was haunted by the wife,who had been seen several times by different people trying to talk to them.
This is a classic case of out of body experience.
